Douglas Haig Valentine, born 1918-died 2006 aged 88 years.Occupation was a retired miner. He lived for the past 18 years in a care home as he couldnt look after himself very well! Originally had three brothers and four sisters, only one of his brothers are left here on earth. uncle Stan whos 85 years young,but not very well himself bless him. I did not know my grandfather very well because of family influences all my life and last saw him over 10 years ago, he died at the local hospital of heart failure due to mrsa, and other complicated illnesses. My mother and i attended his cremation yesterday and it was very sad only twelve people there, so i thought i would create a memorial site just to tell him im sorry that i didnt get to know him better and now i will never get the chance! Sorry Grandad for not knowing you were so ill no one let us know or i would have visited you in hospital, sooner. Hope God looks after you well grandad im sure he will,and when next we meet i will be sure to get to know you better. God bless sleep tight xxx traceyxxx
